3. Commuting in Manila

Are you a newbie when it comes to commuting in Manila? If yes, THIS IS THE PERFECT BLOGPOST THAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT. Hmmm... What are the do's and dont's when you are commuting in Manila? I would tell you some of the do's and dont's of commuting in Manila based on my own experiences.

DO'S

1. PAY THE EXACT FEE
   - You should pay the exact fee becuase some of the drivers wont give you the exact change. For example, the fee is P 7.50, and you pay P10.00, the change that you should recieve is P 2.50, but they would only give you P 2.00...

2. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR VALUABLES
   - Wherever you are, you should keep track of them, because something bad (robery) might happen, especially when you are in a public place.a

3. PUT ON DEODORANT
   - It will be very embarassing when you raise your arm to hold on the railings and you have sweaty armpits. And of course, to avoid smelly armpits.

4. ASK
   - It's never wrong to ask. Just ask and nothing wrong would happen to you. But dont be contented on asking just once. Ask 2 or three different people so you can have options.

5. BE ALERT
   - Always be alert. Especially in crowded places, also apply #2 whenever you're in crowded places. Be alert in jeepneys because some sindicates takes advantages of commotions. For example, someone vomitted on you, of course you would panic, and during that time, they would take advantage of that commotion and steal your stuff.

6. DRESS SIMPLY
   - Wear SIMPLE CLOTHES, because those who dress elegantly are the ones who are most likely to be the victim of robberies, etc.

DONT'S

1. DONT TRUST EVERYONE
   - Do not believe everything they say. If you ask someone, ask other people too because there might be a chance that they are tricking you. So, be wise too.

2. DONT JAYWALK
   - Even though jaywalking is very prominent in Manila, DONT DO IT. Its still against the law. Filipino people tend to cross the highways without using the pedstrian lanes or the overpasses, even if there are signages like "Dont cross over here, someone already died here",  they wont mind and still cross it.

3. DONT USE YOUR PHONE IN PUBLIC
   - Do not take out your phone when you're in a public place (especially when your phone is expensive) because there are instances where your phone would be snatched away from you. So, if ever you would bring your phone out, BE CAREFUL.

4. DONT WEAR FANCY JEWELRY
   - Avoid wearing flashy jewelry because these (earings, necklaces, bracelets) are easily snantched away from you.

These are the simple "DO'S AND DONT'S" when you commute in Manila... I know that it is difficult to commute in Manila but there is a perk when you commute in Manila... THERE IS A HUGE ARRAY OF DELICIOUS STREET FOODS THAT IS VERY INEXPENSIVE!! But, be careful, some of them are dirty and unsafe. So, you should buy at your own risk. So, these are the simple things you should do and not do when you travel in Manila.
